Currently our waitlist is full so we are not accepting applications at this time.
A prospective member would either be selected through the external waitlist or apply through subsidized living, the HATCH program through the Halton region internal waitlists.
Membership Criteria
- at least one member of the household is aged 16 years or older
- the household meets the Co-op’s mandate (Include only if the Co-op has an approved mandate)
- the household’s rental history does not give the Co-op reasonable grounds to believe the household may fail to pay the housing charge
- the household size meets the Applicable Occupancy Standards
- applicants have
- a positive attitude towards living in a community with people from different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, and a commitment to treating other members with respect
- an interest in contributing to the operation and life of the Co-op
- a willingness to maintain the unit in good repair.
The Co-op will apply these standards equally to all applicants.
Membership Obligations and Responsibilities
Each Member is expected to:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our co-operative as a community
- Actively participate in the ongoing maintenance and operation of the Co-op by joining a committee, attending meetings, and making constructive suggestions for improvement
- Follow the rules, policies, and by-laws’
- Treat other Co-op members and staff of the Co-op with respect
- Approve by-laws, policies, and rules
- Participate in voting to:
- elect fellow Member to serve on the Board of Directors
- appoint a financial auditor
- approve the annual budget and audited financial statements
Volunteer as much as possible to help care for and maintain the Co-op’s property and building and to grow our Community Spirit!
